Hong Kong MTR (香港地铁)
The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) is a major public transport network serving Hong Kong. The Hong Kong MTR began operation in 1979 and has since become one of the most efficient and well-respected metro systems in the world. Operated by MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL), it consists of heavy rail, light rail and feeder bus service, centered on a 10-line rapid transit network serving urbanized areas of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories.

- MTR Corporation Limited was established in 1975, and the first MTR line, the Kwun Tong Line, began operations in 1979.
