Line 5 Overview
The branch line runs between Dongchuan Road and the Minhang Development Zone. This section was originally part of the line built in 2003 and became a branch after the southern extension to Fengxian Xincheng opened in 2018. This branch line has four stations and primarily serves the Minhang Development Zone. Future plans are likely to separate this branch from Line 5 and incorporate it into Shanghai Metro Line 23.
