Line 1 Overview
Line 1 is the first and oldest line of the Shanghai Metro network. Construction began in 1990, and the first phase opened on May 28, 1993, between Shujiahui and Shanghai Railway Station. The line was later extended in phases to Fujin Road in the north and Xinzhuang in the south. It is approximately 36.4 kilometers long and has a total of 28 stations.
