U4 Line Overview
U4 line opened on October 27, 1988, between Westendstrasse and Arabellapark. With a length of 9.2 km and 13 stations, the U4 is Munich's shortest U-Bahn line. Originally planned as the U9, it is the only line that regularly operates with 4-car sets instead of full 6-car sets. The line shares tracks with the U5 for most of its route.
