Line 5 Overview
The first phase of Line 5 opened on July 21, 1959, between Sagrera and Villapicina. Over the next few years, the line was extended in several phases, including extensions through central Barcelona towards both Cornellà Centre in the southwest and Vall d'Hebron in the north. The most recent major addition was the Ernest Lluch station, which opened in 2021. The line is 18.8 kilometers long and has 27 stations.
