Brasília Metro (Metrô do Distrito Federal)
The Brasília Metro, also known as Metro-DF, began operations in 2001, making a significant addition to the public transportation system of Brazil's capital city. With its opening, Brasília joins the ranks of major global cities with a metro system designed to enhance urban mobility and meet the growing transit needs of its residents. Currently, the Metro of the Federal District has 27 stations on two lines, and runs for 42.38 kilometers. As the network expanded, additional lines and stations were introduced, providing residents and visitors with a reliable means of transportation in and around the city.
