It is located on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Barsha Heights area and is named after the nearby Dubai Internet City. It serves surrounding areas such as Dubai Media City, Knowledge Park, Al Sufouh, and The Greens. The station is the 21st station on the Red Line from Centerpoint and the 15th from Expo 2020.
