M1 Branch Line extends from Sesto 1° Maggio FS in the northeast to Bisceglie in the west and is 26.7 km long. The first part of this route was opened in 1966 as part of Milan's initial metro expansion, while the final extension to Bisceglie opened on March 21, 1992. It provides interchange with the M2, M3, M4, and M5 lines.
