Yokohama Municipal Subway (横浜市営地下鉄 (Yokohama-shiei chikatetsu))

The Yokohama Municipal Subway is a rapid transit network south of Tokyo in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is operated by the Yokohama City Transportation Bureau as two lines, although three continuous lines exist. Since its opening in 1972, the subway system has played an important role in connecting major districts within Yokohama, contributing to the development and accessibility of the city. Consisting of two primary lines, the Blue Line (1) and the Green Line (3), the Yokohama Municipal Subway provides residents and visitors with a convenient and fast means of traversing the city. The Blue Line extends from Shonandai in the west to Azamino in the east, while the Green Line runs from Nakayama in the north to Azamino in the south. With important interchange stations such as Kannai serving as central hubs, the subway system integrates seamlessly into Yokohama's urban fabric, facilitating smooth transfers and ensuring widespread connectivity.
