Porto Alegre Metro (Metrô de Porto Alegre)
The Porto Alegre Metro, known locally as Transurban, began operations on 2 March 1985, marking an important milestone in the public transportation system of Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande State. The initial line, connecting Porto Alegre to Novo Hamburgo, covers a distance of approximately 43 kilometers and includes 22 stations along its route. The Porto Alegre Metro not only facilitates efficient and timely movement within the city, but also promotes connectivity with suburban areas, contributing to the economic and social development of the region.
