Naples Metro (Metropolitana di Napoli)
The Naples Metro is a rapid transit system that serves the city of Naples, Campania, Italy, and parts of adjacent comuni within its metropolitan area, via Line 11. The system consists of four underground rapid transit lines (Line 1, Line 2, Line 6, Line 11, Line 10 is under construction). It is the oldest subway in Italy, since Line 2, the first line, was opened to the public in 1925. Many stations are decorated with vibrant mosaics, sculptures and contemporary artworks, transforming underground spaces into cultural experiences. Additionally, the Metro offers a quick and convenient route to sites such as Castell dell'Ovo and the Naples National Archaeological Museum.
