Bangkok BTS Metro (Bangkok Mass Transit System)
The Bangkok Metro is a hallmark of Thailand's bustling capital, a testament to the city's commitment to modern urban development and efficient transportation. Since its opening on 3 July 2004, the Bangkok Metro, also known as the MRT, has significantly changed the way residents and visitors move around the city. The MRT system consists of two fully operational rapid transit lines (blue and purple) and one fully operational monorail line (yellow). A monorail line (pink) is in trial operation, with a second rapid transit line (orange) under construction. With its extensive network of lines and stations, the metro system serves as an important artery connecting major districts, commercial centers and cultural sites.
